The other night Gilda and I were talking about all of the digital information that we have and how nuts it all is.  It is strange because it holds so much weight but at the same time is like huh?  where is it? and poof all gone if there is some sort of accident.  But I guess that applies to most things – __________ holds so much weight but at the same time is like huh? where is it? and poof all gone if there is some sort of accident.

I have so many things on my hard drives that have been forgotten.  In an effort to remember and also an effort to take a few moments in the day to reflect here are two shots found by randomly scrolling my Photography file – they are from 2010.

Also, I read this quote by Alec Soth (now he is wondering if he should rethink this idea) – I think photography is the most anti-Zen activity. It’s all about stopping time, possessing things, holding onto them. And you know, if my goal was to be a healthy person, photography would not be the thing. I have this joke about becoming a binoculographer: you go around and look at the world without photographing. That would be a spiritually healthy way of taking things in. But this wanting to possess it is not so healthy.
